My Everyday Carry (EDC) as a traveling Speaker and Facilitator - 2025
➡️ All my gear: https://kit.co/SARAHSCALACONSULTING
Wondering what I carry every day? This movement is known as Everyday Carry or EDC. I thought it would be fun to write a blog sharing what I typically carry - my EDC as a speaker and facilitator. I try my best to have the lightest and most minimal carry that also meets my needs.
In addition to serving as a certified executive and team coach, as well as organizational development consultant, I have a lot of facilitation and speaking events where I am featured.
I now video record most of my public speaking engagements so that I can critique my work and to create short video clips on Youtube for marketing.
As a professional speaker and entrepreneur, there is specific equipment that I never leave home without.
My EDC includes:
N-95 masks and travel size hand sanitizer
Kensington Notebook Computer Case Contour Roller - I love this bag for traveling and attending conferences! It rolls, has a water bottle pocket, a shoulder strap, and can slip over suitcase luggage. It is very well padded, and can carry multiple laptops or gear. I have used the bag for over two years, and never leave home without it for organization, ease and water bottle pocket. It look professional and the wheels make it easy to transport heavy loads of gear.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 v Yoga 2 in 1 notebook - I love this laptop, not only for presentation, but because it includes a stylus that is garaged in the laptop for taking notes. I have been using this laptop for over 2 years and love the speed and clean look!
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Tablet I have been using this tablet daily for over 2 years and love the speed and clean look!
Samsung S23 Galaxy phone- unlocked: I shoot all video with my Samsung smartphone, putting it in airplane mode
Sandisk 200 GB SD card - when shooting video, having a lot of memory is critical
Anker portable charger - this is connected to the phone whenever I record video to ensure I have enough battery power
Remote - wireless, USB remote
HDMIcable - 20 feet long to plug in projector
Anker Soundcore 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker - in case the venue doesn’t have a sound system- loud and light weight
GorillaPod mobile tripod - used in smaller rooms
Nexstand Laptop Stand – Portable Laptop Stand – PC and MacBook - this stand is very lightweight and durable - great for travel, and is less expensive than some other brands of stands.
