What People Are Saying

"Sarah A. Scala, M. Ed / OD, ACC provided the audience with practical perspectives on making sure we are obtaining psychological safety for ourselves and how to advocate for others. Well done!"

- Nichelle Grant, CDE, Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Siemens USA

“After hearing Sarah present an Out and Equal Workshop, our BRG networks at Lockheed Martin chose to bring Sarah in for a psychological safety event. This gave employees the opportunity to focus on a topic that is very present in the workplace and her presentation provided a lot of insight and understanding. The dynamic that she used for the workshop encouraged active engagement and was well received by attendees. I look forward to being able to engage with Sarah for future events.”

- Carly Danek, Quality Program Engineer, Lockheed Martin

I worked with Sarah Scala when she facilitated a workshop for our firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiative about “The Real Costs of Getting Workplace Diversity & Inclusion Wrong.” Her compassionate, open, and energetic style invited engagement, questions, and insight for all participants. Sarah’s approach showed clearly why diversity and inclusion is not simply a “check the box” activity, but has real, bottom-line impact. She showed simple, commonsense ways to build more diversity within an organization, and more importantly, how to create an inclusive environment where diverse individuals can be who they authentically are. Sarah was also great to work with! She was a consummate professional who kept her commitments and was also flexible and understanding in meeting our needs and concerns. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to open a conversation about building diversity, equity, and inclusion in their organization.”
- Former Communication Lead, Michael Baker International

"Over the course of two days, Sarah presented training sessions for the management and front-line staffs of Billings Farm & Museum and the Woodstock Inn & Resort. Centered on Psychological Safety, DEIB, and Unconscious Bias, the sessions were outstanding and extremely well received by participants. Sarah was lively, authentic, and inclusive as she engaged with the staff. Moreover, she expressed these same traits as we worked dynamically to craft these meaningful programs and to follow up in the weeks that followed. I highly recommend Sarah as a consultant and partner in the very best sense of the term; she's first rate!"

- David Simmons, President, The Woodstock Foundation, Inc

”Sarah was professional and easy to understand. Everyone in the world could benefit from these sessions!”
”I like the way it was delivered in short sessions. It's easier to get away from your daily tasks for short periods of time and I think this likely allowed for better attendance.”
“I think the structure was good for the "global" employee owners not specifically involved in the initiative. Quick snip it of info to get the gears turning and give us awareness.”
”I'm glad a large part of the company saw this together, giving us common understanding and vocabulary.”
”it was well facilitated, flowed well, easy to ask questions.“
”I saw some different perspectives that I had not considered before.”
”I especially like the Equity session. The visual examples were key!”
”I primarily liked the informative aspect of this program, how it improved my knowledge of DEIB and some of the issues related to these four categories!”
”That each letter in DEIB was discussed, and I learned the difference between Equality and Equity.“

- Participants, Chroma Technologies and 89 North (I provided four bitesize 20-minute DEIB workshops)

After the meeting, the Pride ERG leader decided to join forces with their Veterans ERG to have an intersectional program with many more participants and to also be able to share the investment between the two groups.
