Lately many bloggers are sharing what they carry every day,. This movement is known as Everyday Carry or EDC. I thought it would be fun to write a blog sharing what I typically carry - my EDC as a speaker and facilitator. As a professional speaker and entrepreneur, there are specific equipment that I never leave home without. 

Through conversations with my SCORE mentors, a spreadsheet was created showing the current-state and future-state of the systems. This analysis also included the frequency of use. This spreadsheet helped to quantify the amount of time devoted to each task and system. From these insights, I identified ways to use certain systems for multiple tasks and streamline processes. It's often helpful to take a look at what we're spending our time doing as entrepreneurs, and what we may be able to delegate or eliminate.

My 7 year-old business, Sarah Scala Consulting, continues to be successful through word-of-mouth referrals and recommendations. I am grateful everyday to have wonderful clients that continue to recommend me to leaders of their organizations or to their peers at different companies. When starting out, entrepreneurs often feel like they absolutely need to have a website to start a business.

When I moved back to New England from the Midwest in 2011, I quickly noticed that one resource missing was a professional association to build connections and learn from those in my field of Organization Development and Learning. Having spent almost a decade in Wisconsin, I was a member of a few professional associations. Learning and connections with these groups were pivotal in helping me to find new positions, learn new approaches, and really feel like I had a community!

When starting out, entrepreneurs often feel like they absolutely need to have a website to start a business. My company did not have a website for the first 3 years, Clients simply wrote recommendations on my LinkedIn profile.
